International airfare from New York, hotels, guided tours, and in-trip flights are included. Operated by Culture Holidays and hosted by Christine's Travel Escapes. 2027 dates and booking are coming soon; join the list at /book.

Why you'll love this African adventure

This journey blends rich culture, awe-inspiring natural wonders, and iconic wildlife in one itinerary: the urban pulse and history of Johannesburg and Soweto, the thundering mist of Victoria Falls, Big Five game drives in Kruger, and the scenic beauty of Cape Town, the Cape Peninsula, the Winelands, and Table Mountain. It is a well-balanced tour of discovery and relaxation for travelers who want a deep, varied Southern Africa experience without coordinating the safari logistics, flights, and transfers themselves.

Where you'll stay

Accommodations include the Signature Lux Hotel by Onomo in Sandton, Johannesburg; Umbhaba Eco Lodge on a 30-acre farm near Kruger in Hazyview; and the Old Bank Hotel, a boutique property in the heart of Cape Town with a rooftop bar and city views. Hotels may be substituted with similar properties if needed. An optional half-day Winelands add-on tour is available for $95 per person.

Operated by Culture Holidays, hosted by Christine's Travel Escapes

Payment and cancellation policy

The deposit is US$750 per person, non-refundable and non-transferable. A 50% payment is due 145 days before departure and the full balance 90 days before departure. Cancellation: from booking to 145 days out, $300 per person plus insurance cost if purchased and air ticket cost if issued; 144-90 days out, 50% of the trip cost; 89 days or fewer, no refund. A traveler who becomes single because a roommate cancels pays the single supplement. Payment cut-off dates are firm.

Travel notes

Check visa requirements for your nationality before traveling. Consult your doctor about vaccinations; the Kruger region is a malaria-risk zone. Tap water is generally safe in major cities, and bottled water is widely available. South Africa drives on the left, uses Type M power outlets (bring a universal adapter), and runs on South African Standard Time, UTC+2. Summer runs November to February. Be respectful of local customs across this culturally diverse country of 11 official languages.
